Belén Hermida is a registered architect and educator from Spain. Artium Baccalaureae cum laude in Studio Art and Architecture, Wellesley College (1986) and Master of Architecture, MIT (1988). She practices alone and in collaboration with other professionals, among them Rafael Moneo with whom she worked between 1989-2007. Among other projects, she was team leader for the Pediatric-Maternity Hospital Gregorio Marañón (1997-2003) and the Prado Museum Extension (1995-2007) both in Madrid.

Since 2005 she is also a faculty member at Universidad CEU San Pablo in Madrid, Spain, where she teaches Architectural Design and researches in the group Re-Thinking Cities, experimenting with new interdisciplinary formats and methodologies in Spain and abroad. She coordinates the Bilingual Program in Architecture and co-directs [MUID], Master of Urban Interior Design: Public Living Spaces in Contemporary Cities, organised by University CEU San Pablo and Politecnico di Milano, where she has also been visiting faculty.

Since 2013 she is a Board Member at the Official Architects Association of Madrid COAM. Since 2015 she is a Trustee of Fundación Arquitectura COAM.
